2021 was a key year for my production as my adoption of Machine Learning (ML) as the primary element of my work took place and was fully embraced. Ever since I started making art, instead of understanding it as separate mediums I have tried to create unity. This has defined the way I create and understand art today, and which is my belief in a single medium, the post-internet, and a myriad of protocols through which it can be employed. A medium holds the power of transformation, which is the greatest potential of the post-internet reality. A protocol is just the way we open a path for the medium: sculpted, painted, photographed, recorded, etc.
My main interest in using ML to create art comes from the relational processes and aesthetics of the internet. Every thing we do online is relational, even if we are only creating a relationship with a computer. It is in this way that I wish to explore the way our kinship with digital devices is changing and becoming more and more affective with each passing year. During 2021 I was able to create post-photographies, videos, forms, drawings and paintings by using Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), and in December, I was able to present all these works with my project The Art of Giggles, a show I made by creating a fictional artist using solely ML for my Alternate Reality Game Friends of Corruption Museum.
