In 2018 I kept the effort of painting exclusively images generated or gotten using a computer. One of my biggest interest continued to be the study and recognition of digital labor, so I decided to engage with different users to create my new works. Images were either exchanged or sold to me by a user of a Social Network, specifically tumblr, where I had been actively part of the community for several years and Second Life.
In Second Life I recorded machinima of virtual landscapes and of avatar encounters, and I started working closely with an avatar named Anita Sweet Tutti-frutti, who creates virtual objects and textures which she sells in Second Life. I created several paintings of her advertisements which show her signature on them.
I also continued my Captcha Paintings, which are made and named after a file I downloaded and which generated the digital puzzle, and I kept on working with virtual real estate and founded the Second Life Vulcanologist Association.
Also in Second Life I recorded several short films like Tell me you Love, Sadness, and Looking for the Body in which I pegged the camera to different avatars and objects to record love activity in Second Life.
